The muster is back! After the success of 2016 with country music superstar Adam Harvey, this year sees another cavalcade of guest artists performing, including country music superstars Tania Kernaghan and the daughter of Hank Williams Jett Williams, bringing you top quality country music to enjoy.
Wendy recently composed a media release, and can be read below:
It wasn’t until she was in her 20s that Jett Williams, the only daughter of Hank Williams Sr, proved her parentage – that the “Prince of Pain” was indeed her old man.
Since proving her father’s commitment and connection to the daughter he’d never meet, Jett has gone on to perform with members of his original band and form strong ties with them.
It’s the first time the singer-songwriter, born Antha Belle Jett on January 6, 1953, the daughter of Bobbie Jett and Hank Williams Sr, has ventured to the Land Down Under. She’s being brought to Australia by Terry Gordon OAM and will do a select number of concerts across the country, with dates soon to be announced.
The star power just keeps on coming with a delicious, all-girl double-whammy: Muster organiser Wendy Gordon is thrilled to announce Tania Kernaghan, one of Australian country music’s favourite daughters, will share top billing with the event’s esteemed American guest.
With a brilliant new album, All Australian Girl, fresh on the market and a national tour marking her brother Lee’s 25th anniversary of Boys From The Bush, it’s going to be a big and busy year for Tania Kernaghan.
“Tania and I go back a long way so it’s great to have her along as our headline act at the Muster – and, of course, we’re thrilled to present Hank Williams’ only daughter,” Wendy said.
The leading ladies head quite a charge of legends, larrikins, poets, pickers, pluckers, singers and strummers including Chad Morgan, Reg Poole OAM, Terry Gordon OAM, Owen Blundell, Gunbarrell Highwaymen, Dianne Lindsay, Peter Simpson, John MacDonald, Lex K, Doug Stuart, Lindsay Waddington, Rodney Vincent, Ray Essery, Gary Fogarty, Glenn Jones, The Muirs, Bev Branson, Ken ‘Chainsaw’ Lindsay, Pete ‘Smokie’ Dawson, Errol Gray and the Kross Kut Showband. And that’s just for starters …
Over a five-year period, regular Muster mates have noticed the vastly improved infrastructure and manicured grounds. It’s apparent gardening is as much a passion as country music for Wendy Gordon. In a short time Wendy has lovingly transformed the property into a colourful, leafy oasis where high teas and special functions are often held.
Bookings, including groups, are being taken for the 2017 Clarence Valley Country Muster, with crowds expected to reach the magical 1000 site bookings milestone this year. It’s been a steady but healthy increase in allocated sites with return patrons getting the word out among their friends. The country grapevine tips the Muster as one of the RV-friendliest, must-see country festivals in NSW. And, it’s timed to coincide with the 2017 Jacaranda Festival, giving people even more reasons to enjoy the picturesque Clarence Valley and all it has to offer.
The 2017 Muster dates are from Monday, October 23 to Sunday, October 29. Early-birds will find the gates open no earlier than Saturday, October 21. Bookings and deposits can be directed to Wendy Gordon 0432 741 947 or by visiting the website, www.cvcmuster.com.au.
