The North East Waste Forum is again coordinating Second Hand Saturday across the member council’s of Clarence Valley, Ballina, Byron, Tweed and Richmond Valley. Second Hand Saturday is a north coast community event involving the FREE co-ordination and promotion of neighbourhood garage sales across the region, for the sale of second hand goods between residents. Second Hand Saturday helps to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, enables residents to participate in the promotion of reuse and repair, and engage them in an environmentally, socially and economically rewarding activity.
How to participate?
1. Hold your garage sale! Register for FREE online at www.northeastwasteforum.org.au or phone your local participating Council (registrations open on 9 September and close on 5 October) to receive free promotion of the event and free listing of your address in local papers and on the NEWF website.
2. Join in the treasure hunt on Saturday 15 October. Find the garage sales and bargains near you on the NEWF website: www.northeastwasteforum.org.au ; or in local papers before the day.
