In May 2012, Clarence Valley Council approved the awarding of a construction contract to Swimplex, for the renovation of South Grafton swimming pool at a cost of $531,863. Swimplex will commence work on 15 October. The pool will close at the end of its normal operating hours on Sunday 14 October. Following two weeks of demolition, there will be two and a half weeks of forming and pouring concrete, with a further three weeks for the concrete to cure. This will bring us to the Christmas break. Work will recommence at new year for pool finishes and concourse repairs, ready for a handover on 12 February 2013.
