The annual migration of whales up and down the coast of New South Wales is a natural wonder. These magnificent creatures make their pilgrimage north during June and early July each year, with the return trip occurring around September to November.

Encouraging people to get out and do some whale spotting is the aim of Wild About Whales, a NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) campaign now in its second year.

A key platform of the campaign is the Wild About Whales website (www.wildaboutwhales.com.au); a one-stop-shop for information about whales and whale watching in New South Wales. Visitors can find out the top whale hotspots, get the latest updates on sightings, as well as learn a range of interesting whale facts. People are also encouraged to share their whale experiences and sightings through the Facebook page (www.facebook.com.au/wildaboutwhales) and Twitter (@WildAboutWhales) by using the #whaleon hashtag.

For further information on whale watching in the Clarence Valley check out the local operators who do whale watching tours here.
